Things to Know
- Horseback riding runs May thru October each season, see our 2025 Riding Schedule.
- Purchases are non-refundable. You may reschedule your ride (subject to availability) only if you do so at least 72 hours in advance.
- Please arrive a minimum of 20 minutes prior to your scheduled time. If you are not checked in at the office at least 10 minutes prior to your start time you will miss your ride; refunds will NOT be given. We cannot hold horses for you because it will disrupt the schedule for all other guests both in your group and for the remainder of the day. We are firm on this policy.
- Horseback rides usually run in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but Stony Lake Stables may cancel the activity up to the start time of the activity in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If we cancel, you will be able to reschedule your activity to any future date, subject to availability. Please call ahead in inclement weather.
- Participants must sign a liability waiver before participating in any activity at Stony Lake Stables. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign for them.

- Horse treats are available for $1 per cup following your ride.
- We have beautiful shaded trails.
- We recommend pants and covered toe shoes.
- Management reserves the right to refuse customers from participating in equestrian activities who, in our professional opinion, are not physically able, with a reasonable degree of safety, to perform such activities.
- WARNING: Under the Michigan Equine Activity Liability Act, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an equine activity resulting from an inherent risk of the equine activity.
